Hello from East Orange, New Jersey! I hold a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado; my concentration was in interdisciplinary studies. I also have a master's in Education, emphasis in Reading Strategies.I've been a constant contributor to two tutoring programs for the past eight years: the After School program and the Saturday School program. I believe that it's my role as a tutor to ensure that students have the basic skills they need to combat any individual failings. When working with students as a tutor, I feel that it's important to help them develop their Language Arts skills. They are an essential building block for achievement in other courses. Students need to be able to express themselves clearly, using proper sentence structure, and punctuation. They also need to be able to think clearly, form logical arguments, and defend them. Other subjects I am comfortable providing tutoring services for are Reading, Writing, Math, Essay Writing, Phonics, Essay Editing, and more. I know that some students may know their material quite well, but find that being faced with taking a test is quite stressful or they don't know how to use their time to have an advantage in that situation. I can help them develop effective skills in this area. My other interests include reading, watching movies, and listening to music.
